Stabenow Against Conscientious Objectors

Just as we were digging into tax dollars being used to pay for abortions for a later post, we get this update from Politico that another amendment offered by Senator Orrin Hatch (R-UT) was defeated. This amendment would “have prohibited discrimination against health care providers who refuse to provide abortion services. The amendment failed 10-13 with Democratic Sen. Conrad and Republican Sen. Snowe crossing party lines.”  (Chris Frates, “Second Abortion Amendment Fails,” Politico, 9/30/09)

Hatch: “I don’t think anybody in their right mind would want to take away the right of a person with deeply held religious or philosophical or other beliefs and forcing them to ... participate in abortions.”  (Chris Frates, “Second Abortion Amendment Fails,” Politico, 9/30/09)

“Democratic Sen. Stabenow Said Hatch’s Amendment Would ‘Undermine Women’s Access To Health Care.’”  (Chris Frates, “Second Abortion Amendment Fails,” Politico, 9/30/09)

• “‘If the amendment would be adopted we would offer no patient protections’ for woman who need abortion services, she said.  (Chris Frates, “Second Abortion Amendment Fails,” Politico, 9/30/09)

Oh Debbie, two times in one day you not only carry the water for the pro-abortion lobby, but you also act as their mouthpiece. We’re going to have to check back later with an update on Stabenow and this abortion issue.
