Salt Nazis: Liberals Look To Ban Salt, Literally

A while back we posted a tongue-in-cheek piece about how government ought to be classified as a schedule 1 narcotic. The reason being Democrats, particularly liberal Democrats, push Big Government solutions for just about everything. It’s how they get you addicted to government, dependent on them, looking to your elected official for a fix. The more incapable you are of taking care of your own affairs the better, as far as they are concerned. It means more power and more control.

Liberals honestly believe that they know better how to take care of you, than you do yourself. They think that your welfare is their province, not yours.

I can hear the liberal naysayers now: “this site is part of the vast right-wing conspiracy!”

Whatever.

Can you explain any rationale for attempting to ban salt in the preparation of food in restaurants? Balderdash you say, no one would conceive of something as absurd as banning salt; salt is used in just about everything, from the appetizers to the entrees to the desserts themselves. Yeah, even that pineapple upside down cake you love so much.

Well, New York State “Assemblyman Felix Ortiz , D-Brooklyn, introduced on March 5,” a bill that would ban salt in the preparation of food and  “would fine restaurants $1,000 for each violation.” Ortiz justified his ban saying it would “allow restaurant patrons to decide how salty they want their meals to be.”

“No Owner Or Operator Of A Restaurant In This State Shall Use Salt In Any Form In The Preparation Of Any Food  For  Consumption  By  Customers  Of  Such  Restaurant, Including  Food  Prepared To Be Consumed On The Premises Of Such Restaurant Or Off Of Such Premises.”  (A10129, As Introduced By New York State Assemblyman Felix Ortiz, New York State Assembly Legislative Website)

Several years ago, when liberals started their push to ban smoking in restaurants and bars, opponents warned that it was only a matter of time before the liberals come after something you do care about. Maybe you don’t care about salt or pineapple upside down cake, but it won’t be long before they do look to ban something you do care about.
