Morning Dose Of Reality: Personal Responsibility

Fancy that, the notion that people are personally responsible for health insurance. You’d never know it with Democrats pushing ObamaCare so hard.

Well, a new poll this morning from Gallup says “89% of Republicans, 64% of independents, and 61% of Americans overall say Americans themselves -- rather than the government -- have the primary responsibility for ensuring that they have health insurance.”  (Lydia Saad, “Many In U.S. See Health Insurance As Personal Responsibility,” Gallup, 9/30/09)

Okay, so 61% of Americans overall say people, not the government, are responsible for their own health insurance. Where is the broad mandate for the Obama Administration and the Democrat controlled Congress to push the Public Option? Ask Speaker Nancy Pelosi, after all she say’s because the Democrats won they can do whatever they want.
