Don’t You Have Something Better To Do?

The unemployment rate sits at a 26-year high of 10.2%. President Barack Obama and Democrats in Congress are spending money at a pace that eclipses both President Bill Clinton and George W. Bush. The national debt stands at over $12 trillion. The ability to protect Americans by tracking and investigating terrorists is in jeopardy by year’s end. Iran is marching towards building nuclear weapons, vowing to build 10 new nuclear enrichment facilities in the face of Obama’s negotiation policy. I could go on and on. Obviously trouble abounds at every turn, whether domestic or foreign.

So why then, are Members of Congress pounding their fists, demanding Congressional hearings into “Party Crasher-Gate?” Granted, the breach of security at the White House for the State Dinner was egregious. It defies reason how this whole affair was allowed to transpire. The security of the President, as well as staff and guests at the White House is serious business. The integrity of the government is at stake if the life of the President is threatened. There should certainly be an investigation, and there is… by the Secret Service.

According to Michael O’Brien over at The Hill’s Blog Briefing Room, U.S. House Homeland Security Committee Chairman Representative Bennie Thompson (D-MS) announced he will hold a hearing in which he’ll call the Director of the Secret Service and the party-crashers, Tareq and Michaele Salahi, to “testify.”

Seriously, don’t you have something better to do?
