In case you missed it, Senator Harry Reid (D-NV) equated opponents of government-run health care to those who opposed the abolition of slavery, among other things. Harry is prone to saying mean, nasty things. We’ve covered some of his more ridiculous comments here, but this one goes beyond the pale.
Does that mean the 53% of Reid’s own constituents who oppose ObamaCare are the same as those who opposed the abolition of slavery?
“The Telephone Poll Of 625 Registered Voters Found That 53 Percent Of Nevadans Oppose The President's Attempt To Provide A Remedy For Problems In The Nation's Health Care System.”(Paul Harasim, “Fewer Back Health Reform,” Las Vegas Review-Journal, 12/6/09)
It’s no wonder Harry’s favorable/unfavorable ratings are up-side-down:
38% Favorable. “Just 38 percent of respondents said they had a favorable opinion of the Democratic Senate majority leader.” (Ben Spillman, “Reid In A Battle, Poll Reveals,” Las Vegas Review-Journal, 12/4/09)
49% Unfavorable. “According to the poll commissioned by the Review-Journal, 49 percent of respondents had an unfavorable opinion of Reid, while 13 percent were neutral.” (Ben Spillman, “Reid In A Battle, Poll Reveals,” Las Vegas Review-Journal, 12/4/09)
